Robert Walpole, 1st Earl of Orford, known before 1742 as Sir Robert Walpole, was a British Statesman who was the longest serving Prime Minister of Great Britain. Born at Houghton Hall, Norfolk, his influence on the politics of his day was tremendous.

The Walpole Room has an ornate fourposter pine carved double bed, a double ended bath with mood lighting and a champagne caddy by the bath for your enjoyment. There is an electric shower situated above the bath for those who prefer a shower.

There is a beautiful view of the Box and Lavender garden at the rear of the property.
