COVID 19 SAFETY MEASURES AT CHIMNEYS BED & BREAKFAST.
As I seek to recommence trading at Chimneys, I wish to put your and my family’s safety above everything and shall be following government guidelines to enable Chimneys to be ‘Covid Secure’
I have carried out a Risk Assessment to re-open.
These measures will remain in place for 2021 and I will reassess next year.
I acknowledge these new arrangements are far from my usual relaxed terms but it is the correct thing to do.
FULL LIST OF MEASURES
Due to social distancing, I will operate a maximum of two rooms, that being the King George Room as a SuperKingsize or twin room and the Queen Mary as a double room only.
Chimneys will now operate an adults only policy. Families can no longer be catered for at this time.
Dogs are still welcome at Chimneys.
Chimneys reserves the right to close and cancel bookings due to Covid 19 and will refund all monies for the closed period.
Cancellations made up to 48 hours before your due arrival will receive a full refund. If you cancel after that time and I am unable to rebook the accommodation, you will receive half of the cost of your stay.
Check in is from 4.30pm. This year I cannot allow early access to rooms because of Covid 19 safety.
Arrival times will be staggered and must be arranged in advance to enable social distancing between guests when checking in.
On arrival I request that guests wear face masks and sanitise their hands with gel provided.
I will ask if you have any symptoms related to Covid such as cough, fever or change in taste or smell. I reserve the right to refuse entry to guests presenting with Covid 19 symptoms.
I will be wearing a face covering.
A track and trace questionnaire must be completed on arrival.
Sanitised keys will be given to you in a plastic bag and I will direct you to your room.
I can carry luggage if required and will sanitise my hands after handling your cases.
Sanitiser will be available on the upstairs landing and on entry to Chimneys.
Soap dispensers are available in the guest en-suite rooms (they are wiped with sanitisers in between new guests arriving within the cleaning regime)
If a guest is displaying signs of the Coronavirus (COVID19) virus whilst staying with us, they should inform us straight away, immediately self isolate in their room to minimise risk of transmission and request a test. If they are confirmed to have COVID 19, they should return home.
My standards have always been high, but I will be implementing a strict cleaning and disinfection regime through the house.
In accordance with guidelines, your room will not be serviced once you have been given your key.
Additional antibacterial cleaner will be available within the bathroom if you should wish to use it.
Clean cups will be swapped daily from a tray outside your room.
Any takeaway food must be eaten only at the table provided in your bedroom and takeaway packaging put in the white plastic bag (provided in the top drawer of your dressing table) and left outside your bedroom door.
Please do not eat in bed so as to prevent spillage and spoilage to furniture and fabrics.
Please ventilate the room if eating spicy foods so as to reduce smells within the property.
We are able to retain throws and cushions within our rooms as we have two sets.
All fabrics will be sprayed with Dettol disinfectant spray within the cleaning regime and alternated and quarantined.
Hairdryers will no longer be provided within the rooms. I will endeavour to ask if you’d like one to use on arrival If I forget, please ask.
Hospitality trays will be stocked for each new guest. Additional tea and coffee items can be requested. Fresh milk will be available in your fridge in your room. All containers will be sanitised between guests.
Your room will be prepared by myself whilst wearing a mask, disposable apron and disposable gloves.
There will be a black bin bag within the top drawer of your dressing table. I respectively request that you strip off your bed linen and put this in the bin bag with your towels and bath mat and tie it up. This is not obligatory but I would be very grateful as this decreases the amount of shared contact which will increase everyone’s safety.
Laundry will be washed at 60 degrees.
Frequent touch points throughout the house, such as door handles, stair rails and banisters will be regularly sanitised. I also ask that you wear face masks in the hall and on the stairs.
The breakfast room and guest lounge will be closed this year to enhance everyone’s safety.
As the bedrooms at Chimneys are very spacious, I am providing breakfast tables within your room so that I can continue to serve you with our full breakfast menu.
To enable this new system, guests shall be asked to order the previous night and their choice dropped in the basket in the hallway before 8pm. A breakfast time will be agreed between 7am- 8.45am and your breakfast will be brought up to your bedroom at the agreed time and I will knock to make sure you know it’s arrived.
Please return the dirty crockery and cutlery to the tray left outside your room.
Cruets and placemats will be sanitised between guest stays.
When the weather allows, breakfast may be requested to be taken outside in the garden, the summerhouse or the balcony. This was a service previously provided and makes an enjoyable and safe start to the day where you can relax.
Magazines, books and tourist literature will not be available to reduce the risk of virus transmission . A welcome pack will be emailed to you after I have received payment for your stay.
I will endeavour to help with directions or tourist information so please ask. I can recommend Google maps if you have a smart phone.
Departure is strictly by 10am to allow for a thorough cleaning programme to be implemented between guests. Please be sure to fully open all the windows within your guest room and the ensuite to allow good air circulation before departure. This helps me gain access to the room sooner and helps to keep me safe.
All payments are processed before arrival to minimise contact.
My business bank details will be given to you on booking so that you can arrange to make payment. Cheques are permitted but must arrive in sufficient time to be processed before arrival.
Presently, I will not be taking card transactions.
Please be aware I will not be holding Lost Property therefore, make sure you check and take all of your belongings away with you.
Booking will only be made available directly at Chimneys from now on so please either telephone 01692 406172 or 07450581277 and leave a message if I’m not available. I can no longer provide single night bookings this year.
Despite the unusual circumstances we all find ourselves in this year, I hope that you can feel safe and relaxed at Chimneys and you have a very enjoyable experience here in my home.
With Best Wishes from North Norfolk.
